The
MIN VOLTS
and
MAX VOLTS
adjustments enable the Easy-Start ES to
automatically follow the motor load and
adjust the motor voltage to the value
necessary to maintain normal operation at
the most efficient energy usage.
C.
Stability Adjust
- Every system has its
own unique inertial response. It is the job
of the Easy-Start ES starter control circuit
to regulate over a very broad range of
systems. Failure of a controller to
regulate can result in very large current
surges while the load is constant.
The Easy-Start ES control performs this
job very well for nearly every application.
There are, however, a few stubborn
cases. For these special cases a stability
adjustment
STAB
has been included to
compensate the control to match the
system response.
PROCEDURE
: Connect a voltmeter
between any two phases at the load
terminals. If the voltage remains
constant, or, if it varies proportional to
load changes, the starter is regulating and
no adjustment is required.
If the load is constant but the voltage
changes erratically, adjust
STAB
until the
voltage is steady.
Caution should be taken to determine whether
the voltage is changing because of instability or
load changes. If there is a doubt, the system is
most likely operating properly. If it is unstable
there is usually very little doubt, as the changes
will produce very violent surging.
