A.1 Troubleshooting
The table below lists some errors that may occur during the operation
of the Pronto2K/ProntoHD and details how to resolve them:
Error
Cause
Solution
The path (drive letter) of
the stripe set (video
data storage) is not dis-
played by the operating
system.
A video hard disk or a
hard disk carrier got
loose/jammed (e.g. af-
ter transport) or is not
mounted correctly.
Shut down the system as de-
scribed in section “Shutting
Down the System” on
page 4-3. Then perform the
following for each disk carrier
separately: Unscrew the
screw of the disk carrier, pull
the disk with its carrier partly
out of the chassis. Then in-
stall it again by pressing the
disk carrier back into its
shaft. Afterwards tighten the
screw of the disk carrier
while observing the correct
mounting of the disk carrier
(see figure 5-2 on page 5-4).
After that start the system
again.
A video hard disk is de-
fective.
Shut down the system as de-
scribed in section “Shutting
Down the System” on
page 4-3. Replace the de-
fective disk as described in
section “Hard Disk Mainte-
nance” on page 5-2.
A proper play-out or
record of video material
is no longer possible.
The video data storage
is too full.
It is recommended to use
only 85% of the overall video
hard disk capacity. If your
video storage is too full, de-
lete some of your video data.
The configuration of the
video system was al-
tered so that it is no
longer capable of real-
time operations.
Contact your local vendor.
One or more video hard
disks may be defective.
Replace the defective disk(s)
as described in section “Hard
Disk Maintenance” on
page 5-2.
An alarm is sounded
and one or more of the
three fan LEDs are lit
up.
A fan has failed.
Shut down the video system
immediately and contact the
service department of DVS.
