Pronto2K/ProntoHD Hardware Guide
2.2 Overview of Rear
For explanatory reasons this section starts with some information
about the DVS naming conventions of the Pronto2K/ProntoHD con-
nectors. After that follows a description of the panels and connections
on the rear of the video system in detail. First, an overall overview of
the rear will be given. After that follows a description of the individual
parts in more detail.
2.2.1 Connector Naming Conventions
Because the Pronto2K/ProntoHD provides sometimes different func-
tions on the connectors of the video system, the labeling has been
simplified.
DVS named the input/output channels (connectors) of the digital vid-
eo signals alphabetically. For YUV you will usually use one channel
(connectors labeled ’A’). With RGB in dual-link mode you will always
need two channels (’A’ and ’B’).
The table below shows how the signals are distributed over the SDI
(serial digital interface) in- and output ports for the different color
modes.
Furthermore, the synchronization connector ’S/H Out’, may also be
called ’Genlock Out’ or ’Ref. Out’ and can be used for bilevel as well
as trilevel.
