Storing the motorcycle
If the motorcycle is to be left unridden over long
periods, it is advisable to carry out the following
operations before storing it away:
-
clean the motorcycle;
-
empty the fuel tank;
-
pour a few drops of engine oil into the cylinders
through the spark plug bores, then turn the
engine over by hand a few times to form a
protective film of oil on the inner walls of the
cylinder;
-
place the motorcycle on a service stand;
-
disconnect and remove the battery.
Battery should be checked and charged (or replaced,
as required) whenever the motorcycle has been left
unridden for over a month.
Protect the motorcycle with a suitable canvas. This
will protect paintwork and let condensate breathe
out.
The canvas is available from Ducati Performance.
Important notes
The legislation in some countries (France, Germany,
Great Britain, Switzerland, etc.) sets certain noise and
pollution standards.
Periodically carry out the required checks and replace
parts as necessary, using Ducati original spare parts,
in compliance with the regulations in the country
concerned.
