INSTALLATION AND SERVICE MANUAL

Preface

Two manuals are supplied with the appliance: the installati-
on manual and the user manual. The installation manual will 
give you the information you need to install the appliance 
in such a way that it will operate properly and safely. This 
manual discusses the installation of the appliance and will 
refer you to the regulations that apply to the installation. In 
addition, you will fi nd technical data for the appliance and 
information on maintenance, any malfunctions that might 
occur and their possible causes. Carefully read this instal-
lation manual prior to installing or servicing the appliance, 
and use the manual while performing the work! In the 
text you will fi nd references to pictures. You can fi nd these 
pictures in the back of the installation manual.

The following symbols are used in the manual to indicate 
important information.

1. Introduction

The appliance is supplied together with a block set or 
pebbles.
The fl ame effect of this atmospheric hearth can be used 
with and without heating.
The heating can be used in two positions, namely 750 watts 
or 1500 watts.
The energy used for creating the fl ame picture is very low 
(about 20 watts).
The DRU appliance is designed to be mounted in a chimney 
breast or a mantelpiece.

2. CE declaration

We hereby declare that the design and construction of the 
appliance, hereafter referred to as an electric atmospheric 
hearth, and the version introduced by us, complies with 
the applicable fundamental safety and health requirements 
described in EC directives.

This declaration will lose its validity if adjustments are made 
to the appliance, without prior written permission by DRU.

3. Safety

3.1 General

start performing installation or maintenance 
work.

precautions/safety instructions in this manual.

Please install the appliance in accordance with the
applicable national, local and constructional (installation) 
regulations.

Precautions / safety instructions during
installation

Carefully observe the following precautions/safety
regulations:

 

 

We recommend that you use an authorized installer to 
install the appliance in accordance with the applicable 
regulations.

 

 

Self-tapping screws are protruding from the bottom and 
back of the appliance, which could cause injuries.
Be aware of this when lifting and moving the appliance.

 

 

At the rear of the appliance you will fi nd a slantingly 
protruding lower part, this could injure you. Be aware of 
this when lifting and moving the appliance.

personnel!

 

 

Do not make any changes to the appliance.

 

 

Only use the supplied block set.
