Properties limiting the diving time
Gas amount
The gas amount depends on the cylinder volume, filling pressure, and the required
residual pressure. When planning a dive, a residual pressure in the pressurized gas
cylinders must be provided as a reserve. The residual pressure may vary
depending on the dive schedule, but should not be less than 30 bar.
Gas consumption, mixed gas
The mixed gas consumption depends on dosage, bypass use through rapid
descent, and flushing of the breathing circuit during start-up and gas change.
Oxygen consumption
Oxygen consumption depends on bypass use by flushing the breathing circuit at
start-up and during the dive, as well as physical exertion.
CO
2
absorber
The filling quantity of the CO
2
absorber is designed in such a way that, when
correctly filled with Dräger DiveSorb® Pro, a service life of 320 min. is achieved
when used in a temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C and at a respiration rate of
22.5 L/min. The service life in line with EN 14143 at 40 L/min is 160 min.
If the dive is to take place in water with a temperature below 10 °C, the following
procedure applies: Store the soda lime intended for use at room temperature
(>15 °C) for at least 12 hours until immediately before the dive. Only fill the CO
2
absorber immediately before the dive.
