6.1
Dismantling the rebreather
WARNING
Fire and explosion hazard!
Oxygen can cause spontaneous combustion of oil and grease. This may result in a
fire or explosion.
►
Keep the high-pressure connectors (plug-in connecting piece and cylinder
valve) as well as the O-rings in the pressure reducers and on the valves free of
oil and grease, or use a suitable oxygen grease.
1. Remove mouthpiece and breathing tubes:
a. Pull out the plug-in connections of the breathing hoses from the connecting
pieces on the rebreather.
b. Loosen the screw connections of the breathing hoses on the mouthpiece
valve and remove the hoses.
2. Remove breathing bag and CO
2
absorber:
a. Remove the protective cover on the carrying side of the device by unhooking
the side flaps.
b. Loosen the tension strap fastening on the CO
2
absorber and turn the CO
2
absorber slightly so that the connections on the breathing bags are easier to
release.
c. Remove breathing bag 2. To do this, press the 3 green buttons one after the
other and disconnect the connections.
d. Remove breathing bag 1. Press the 3 red buttons one after the other and
disconnect the connections.
e. Lift the CO
2
absorber out of the rebreather and put it upright.
3. Remove the pressurized gas cylinder:
a. Make sure the cylinder valve is closed.
b. Press the manual bypass to relieve the pressure from the supply lines.
c. Open belt buckle.
d. Detach the pressurized gas cylinder from the pressure reducer and remove
it.
e. Seal connections with lock nuts to protect the connections from
contamination and prevent moisture from penetrating.
4. Remove connecting pieces:
a. Loosen screw rings inside.
b. Remove the connecting pieces from the housing.
5. Remove the relief valve:
a. Loosen screw ring inside.
b. Remove the relief valve from the housing.

The rebreather is dismantled.
