Installation

 

1.  Turn off the power to the programmable controller. 
2.  Remove the cover from the memory installation unit. 
3.  Connect the memory cassette to the connector, carefully inserting the pins. 

 

Removal 

1.  Turn off the power to the programmable controller. 
2.  Remove the cover from the memory installation unit. 
3.  Slowly pull up the lower section of the MEMORY cassette and completely remove it. 

 

12.3  Battery Replacement 

Most of the parts of the PLC will never need to be replaced. However, the service life of the Mitsubishi 
FX2NC-32BL battery is three years (Tipper Tie part number 30-1013). The battery should be replaced as 
necessary.  
 

Note

: For machines built after 2/21/11, the PLC battery is FX3U-32BL, part number 30-1259. 

 
Replace the battery as follows:  

1.  Turn off the power supply. 

2.  Remove the terminal cover and open the panel cover. 

3.  Remove the old battery from the holder. 

4.  Ensure the polarity is correct, and insert the connector onto the new battery. The battery must be 

reconnected within 20 seconds after removal of old battery to prevent loss of programming. 

5.  Replace the cover. 

 

Caution

: Failure to connect the new battery within 20 seconds of removal of the old battery will result in 

the loss of programmed parameters. The parameters may be reloaded by sending a known good recipe 
to the PLC from the touch screen. 
 
When replacing the battery, always check for the following: 

•

 

Excessive interior temperatures of control cabinet and components. 

•

 

Airborne or electrically conductive dust, moisture, cut wires, metal shavings or clips. 

•
