Clip slippage or blow-off may result from the following
PROBLEMS
SOLUTIONS
Inadequate air pressure to
punch cylinder
Check punch regulator and adjust if needed.
Check power air supply for fluctuation.
Check and adjust punch dwell if needed.
Turn off punch cushion option in the recipe for this product.
Check for clogged or blocked exhaust.
Check for cracked piston or blow-by.
Check for defective punch valve.
Not enough punch stroke or
travel
Adjust punch cylinder stop clockwise to allow further travel of punch.
Too small a casing rope
Adjust voider cylinder close stop.
Pressure packing may be occurring due to worn adjustment blocks on
movable voiders, resulting in movable orifice being larger than
stationary.
Clip slippage or blow off due to
a malformed clip
Ensure adequate lubrication is occurring.
Inspect die and punch ends for chipping or other defects, and replace.
Inspect clip feeding system to ensure clips are not being damaged prior
to entering clip channel.
Inspect clips for inadequate lubrication (wax), and replace if necessary.
Clipper gate adjustment may be needed. Perform a clip resistance test
with a single clip on both clip channels.
Adjustable die may have become loose. Check and reset.
Product may be overstuffed.
Clip slippage or blow-off due to
over-tightening of skin brake
Ensure that correct clip is being used on both sides of the clipper rails.
Use sizing ring whenever applicable to pre-stretch the casing so you do
not have to over-tighten the skin brake to achieve the recommended
stuffed product diameter.
