3.1 Notices for use
3.2 Filling

1.
Remove the kettle from its base for filling.
2.
Fill the kettle either with its lid closed
through the spout or open the lid by un-
latching it with the catch (Fig. 1/10).
3.
Fill it with such an amount of water that
level shown is between „
Min
“-/„
Max
“-
Marksof the indicator.
4.
Close the lid and put the kettle back onto
its base.
3.3 First use
1.
Only fill the kettle up to the „
Max
“-Mark
(
Z
Chapter 3.2, "Filling"
).
2.
Heat the kettle to the boiling-point two or
three times (
Z
Chapter 3.4, "Daily use"
)
and completely discard the water used
afrter each heating.
WARNING:
Check thewater kettle before each use. A
damaged appliance must not be used.
There isdanger ofinjury.
ATTENTION:
Do not hold down the buttons of the control
panel. This might damage the electronic
system
ATTENTION:
Avoid dry-running the water kettle, as this
might damage the appliance in spite of its
automatic shut-off feature.
NOTE:
If the kettle is accidentally switched on with-
out water, the overheating-protection will
automatically switch it off (for this, also refer
to
Z
Chapter 3.7, "Automatic switch-off"
).
Let the appliance cool off completely before
filling it with water again.
NOTE:
Principally let the the kettle cool off before
heating it again.
NOTE:
To save electricity, only heat the amount of
water you actually need at the moment.
WARNING:
When filling the kettle, its underside and the
base must by no means get wet. This could
cause a short-circuit of the contacts in the
base. Thus the outside of the kettle must
also be dry before is set onto the base.
NOTE:
If the water from your supply is harder than
15 °dH it is recommended to filter the water
before heating or to use uncarbonated
spring water. Otherwise the appliance will
calcify prematurely. Your water company
can inform you of the degree of hardness in
your water system
