OPERATION PRACTICAL ADVICE
WARNING: A forage harvester can pose a severe health risk if not used properly. Make sure the safety rules
are followed by everyone operating or in the vicinity of the machine. Refer to page 12 for the safety rules.
NOTE: Generally, we suggest to be safe and perform an adjustment check and inspection before starting up the
harvester.
HARVESTER DRAWBAR POSITION

Maintain the drawbar (item 1) as straight as possible when operating in the field to reduce the driveshaft angles.
This will increase the life of the universal joints and reduce vibrations. Also, with a straighter drawbar position,
pulled behind trailers will track better.

NOTE: Keep the drawbar angle close to 90deg when possible when harvesting.
METAL DETECTOR
Before every harvest day, make sure the metal detector system works properly. Refer to section DAILY CHECKS ON
THE METAL DETECTOR, on page 57.
FIELD WORK
To set the harvester in harvesting mode

Release the spout lock by pushing on the lock handle (item 1) to allow ring gear movement.
