Installation
1.1
FMS50MM
- The unit should be connected to the battery through a dedicated
switch and fuse.
- Usemetal only spark plug caps.
- Never fasten sensor cables to high voltage spark plugs cables or lay
down near high voltage coils.
- Check the battery charger circuit/regulator proper operation.
- Battery voltage should never exceed 15 V even at top engine RPM.
- Position the 9 pin RS232 plug and cable in an easily accessible area,
in the back of the panel, to download future software upgrades.
- For panel installation use the specifically provided bolt on the
bottom plate of the instrument. Do not use or change any of the
screws of the instrument.
- Allow clear air flow through the air ducts o the instrument sides.
- Position the GPS antenna away from sources of electromagnetic
interference (Radio transmitters, strobo, transponder et.), with a
clear view of the sky. Check satellite reception with the GPS PAGE of
FMS 50.
Follow the recommendations due to installation of a compass, away
from ferromagnetic parts or varying magnetic fields.
