Important:
Before connecting your external modem to COM 1 or COM
2, you must first turn on the power of your modem. This is to
protect your ATX power supply and computer against
harmful interference.
2. Enable the Modem Ring-on function in the Resume By Ring
field, and select an IRQ channel for the external modem in the
"Modem Use IRQ" field. Refer to the Power Management
Setup in Chapter 3 of this manual.
3. If your ATX power supply has an On/Off switch, set this to
On so that even when you have shut down (soft power off)
your system, it will always remain in standby mode. You can
shut down your computer by executing the Shut Down
command under Windows
®
95.
4. Enable Power Management. This will allow your system to enter
Suspend mode after you have finished accessing data. Refer to
the Power Management Setup section for more information.
