CONTROLS
Engine ignition switch
The switch turns the system ignition ON and OFF (Fig. 4).
Set switch to (1) to start the engine.
Set switch to “0” to stop the engine.
Choke lever
Choke lever opens and closes the choke valve in the carburettor.
Choke lever in top position (CLOSED) will enrich the air-petrol mixture for easy cold start.
Choke lever in bottom position (OPEN) will provide a suitable air-petrol mixture after
starting the engine for starting the hot engine.
Throttle lever (Fig. 4)
Throttle lever controls the engine speed.
Press or release the throttle lever to increase or decrease engine speed.
Throttle lever lock must be pressed to activate the throttle lever.
Press the throttle lever to increase the engine speed, the trimming tool (trimmer line head or
cutting blade) will start to rotate.
Press the throttle lever further to increase the engine and trimming tool speed.
Release the throttle lever to decrease the engine speed. The trimming tool will continue to
rotate for some time by inertia and eventually stop.
PREPARE AND CHECK GRASS TRIMMER BEFORE USE
To ensure safe and effective trimming, check the grass trimmer before each use.
37
Always check the device on an even, flat surface with the engine stopped.
Make sure the ignition switch is set to “OFF” (Fig. 4).
Checking petrol level
Use unleaded petrol only (recommended 95 RON).
Do not use deteriorated or contaminated petrol or oil/petrol mix.
Do not allow water or impurities to get into the petrol tank.
1. Check the petrol level in the tank on the level gauge.
2. If the petrol level is too low, fill up to the required level. Remove the petrol filler cap
slowly to release the pressure. Otherwise, the petrol may spill.
The petrol quality may deteriorate under certain conditions: light exposure, temperature
and time.
In the worst case, the petrol may not be usable after just one month.
Use of deteriorated petrol may result in engine damage (clogged carburettor or nozzles).
Any damage due to deteriorated petrol is not covered by the warranty.
Observe the following guidelines:
• use recommended petrol only,
• store petrol in a special container,
• if the machine will not be used for over 1 month, drain the petrol from the carburettor and
from the petrol tank.
•
Petrol is highly flammable and explosive at certain conditions.
•
Fill up the tank in a well-ventilated place with the engine stopped. Do not smoke and
do not use open flame when filling or storing the petrol.
•
Do not overfill the petrol tank (petrol must not be present in the filler neck). After
filling, make sure the petrol filler cap is closed.
•
Take care not to spill any petrol. Spilled petrol or its vapours may ignite. Make sure
all the surfaces are dry before starting the engine.
•
Avoid contact with skin or inhalation of vapours.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
