To modify the backlight timer

Change how long the backlight remains on before it goes 
into power saving mode. Decrease the time interval to 
improve battery life.

From any page, go to 

MENU > Device Setup > Display 

> Backlight Timer

 and select the time interval from the 

drop-down list. There are four specific time options and an 
Always On option. 

To restore the default settings

To restore the default settings for all the Display options, 
from any page go to 

MENU > Device Setup > Display > 

Restore Defaults

.

Connect to Computer

Use the Connect to Computer options to set up the  
device to exchange information, transfer maps, and install 
firmware updates.

Use the Compass & Altimeter options on the Device Setup 
Page to enable/disable the electronic compass, the baro-
metric altimeter, and the auto calibrate altimeter feature 
and to calibrate the electronic compass and the barometric 
altimeter.
