APPENDIX D. OPERATOR MESSAGES AND ERROR CODES
Operator Messages
This section describes the meaning of the various operator symbols that appear on the status
line during operation. These messages indicate:
•
Display station operational status.
•
Functions selected.
•
Operational errors or machine failures detected by the display station or the host system.

Host system connected to the display
station is operating and available.

Logical Display
Station Number
Indicates which logical screen is currently
active with a number, 1 or 2.

Message Waiting 1
The blank symbol indicates that the host
has one or more messages for logical
display station 1; it also indicates that the
logical display station 1 is active.
If the logical display station 1 is inactive,
the symbol is solid.
or
Message Waiting 2
(appears only if a
second logical
station is defined)
The blank symbol indicates that the host
has one or more messages for logical
display station 2; it also indicates that the
logical display station 2 is active.
If the logical display station 2 is inactive,
the symbol is solid.
Input Inhibit
The system will not accept input:
−
the host system is processing input.
−
the host system is busy.
The host system detects an error
condition. (If the condition is not an error
and this symbol remains for an abnormal
length of time, contact the supervisor.)
