Printer EBCDIC to ASCII Translation Table
IBM 3X/AS 400 computers perform printing in EBCDIC code. Parallel printers work with
ASCII codes. The workstation’s printer emulation performs EBCDIC to ASCII translation
according to the Translation Table stored in memory. When you get a new workstation,
it’s EBCDIC to ASCII translation table is preset to the Standard Table matching your
country’s EBCDIC and ASCII codes. If you need to print some special characters or you
have a printer with a non-standard character set, you can change the Translation Table
as you wish.
1. Press

with the cursor on
Customize Workstation
in Offline Setup. The
Customization
screen is displayed.
2. Press
T
. The

is displayed.
3. Move the cursor to EBCDIC location that you want to change and enter ASCII value
of the character.
4. Press I
to restore default values.
