Initial Settings and Start-Up Checks
Electrical Check
Verify that the correct AC power is being used:
AE-4: 110 VAC or 220 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, single-phase
AE-6: 110 VAC or 220 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, single-phase
AE-8: 220 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, single-phase
Initial Salt Filling
1.
Flush the water line feeding the brine generator.
2.
Ensure that all hose fittings are tightened.
3.
Close the outlet valve and open the inlet valve to fill brine generator with water only. This will
hydrostatically test the tank for leaks and wash the quartz rock.
4.
Once the tank is filled, drain dirty water to waste.
5.
Pour salt into brine generator until it is full. Salt can be loaded up to the cap on the brine float
assembly.
6.
Open the brine generator water supply valve and fill with softened water. The generator has a
float that will stop the flow of water to the brine generator.
7.
After filling the brine generator with salt and softened water, allow 60 minutes for the salt to
dissolve before priming the brine peristaltic pump.
