After you went through all of the desired modifications, the setup program will proceed with all required
changes such as copying/removing files, updating system registry, etc. Finally, you will see the last setup
screen (not shown here) informing of the upgrade completion.
4.
Click the [Finish] button to complete the upgrade. [D
epending on the amount of changes
performed by the setup program, you
may
or
may not
be required to restart your system at this
point. Note that is if you see the system restart prompt (not shown here), you will be able to
choose to do that
automatically
right now or
manually
at a later time.]
5.2 Uninstalling Spider software
The uninstallation process of the Spider software is very similar to that for most other Windows software
packages. Also, as you proceed, you will notice some resemblance to the software upgrade or
re-installation process described in section 5.1. Therefore, please refer to the beginning of this chapter
(page 39) for important requirements that must be satisfied
before
you start the actual uninstallation.
Then proceed according to the following step-by-step instructions.
1.
Launch Windows
Control Panel
program and click the
Add/Remove Programs
icon.
2.
Select
Spider
line in the list of the currently installed software and double-click it (or
click the [Change]/[Remove] button).
[
After a short delay needed to start up the uninstallation program, you will see the same
uninstallation/maintenance wizard screen as shown in Figure 19.
]
3.
In the
Setup Maintenance
dialog (see Figure 19) select
Remove
option to delete all
Spider software files and undo all changes made to the system configuration by the setup
program.
4.
Sometime during the course of uninstallation you may be prompted to remove certain
shared software components from the
Windows System
folder. It is usually safe to
remove these files, so you may skip further prompts by clicking the [Yes to All] button.
5.
Upon completion of the uninstallation process you will see a status message informing
you whether or not all necessary software components and registry entries were
successfully removed.
[
Certain components may not be removed automatically because they either are remains of the
previous software installation attempts
or
currently in use by the system.
