In this exam p le a region of interest is set to inclu d e p ixels 4 to 9 and horizontal binning is
set to 2. Becau se p ixel 3 is now inclu d ed in the sam e d ata grou p as p ixel 4, the re gion of
interest w ill now inclu d e the d ata from p ixel 3. Also, p ixel 10 is inclu d ed in the sam e d ata

Setting Vertical Binning
Syntax:
Increases the vertical p ixel p itch and light sensitivity by d ecreasing
vertical resolu tion. Vertical binning is also u sefu l for increasing
fram e rate in Area Mod e. Vertical binning in TDI Mod e shou ld
only be used if your w eb’s shaft encod er provid es a red uced ratio
of p u lses to m atch w eb sp eed .

N otes:
You w ill have to recalibrate the cam era after changing binning
valu es.

fram e rate after changing vertical binning valu es if the cu rrent
valu e becom es invalid . The cam era send s a w arning m essage
in this situ ation.

How to Set Exposure Mode and Line/Frame Rate
You have a choice of op erating the cam era in one of tw o exp osu re m od es. Dep end ing on
you r m od e of op eration, the cam era’s line/ fram e rate (synchronization) can be generated
internally throu gh the softw are com m and
or set externally w ith an EXSYN C signal
(CC1). When op erating in TDI Mod e, it is im p ortant that the line rate u sed m atches the
w eb sp eed . Failu re to m atch the w eb sp eed w ill resu lt in sm earing. Refer to the
application note, ―Line Scan/ TDI Line Scan Calculation Worksheet‖ located on the
