Note: For side connections, remove the knockout hole on the bottom plate as
shown below:

NOTICE
Precautions when making knockout holes:
▪
Avoid damaging the casing.
▪
After making the knockout holes, we recommend you remove the burrs and paint
the edges and areas around the edges using repair paint to prevent rusting.
▪
When passing electrical wiring through the knockout holes, wrap the wiring with
protective tape to prevent damage.
18.2.6 To protect against contamination
Protect the piping as described in the following table to prevent dirt, liquid or dust
from entering the piping.
Unit Installation period Protection method
Outdoor unit >1 month Pinch the pipe
<1 month Pinch or tape the pipe
Indoor unit Regardless of the period
Seal the piping and wiring intake holes using sealing material (field supply),
otherwise the capacity of the unit will drop and small animals may enter the
machine.
Example: passing piping out through the front.

a Seal up the opening (area marked in grey).
▪ Only use clean pipes.
▪ Hold the pipe end downwards when removing burrs.
▪ Cover the pipe end when inserting it through a wall, to prevent dust and/or
particles entering the pipe.
