Chapter 5: Startup and Operation
4. Close the main gas supply valve.
5. Disconnect the main power supply.
Starting the heater
Before You Begin
Make sure the heater has been installed properly by qualified gas and electrical service personnel.
1. Perform all pre-startup inspections.
2. Open all manual fuel supply valves.
3. Connect the electrical cord to an approved electrical outlet.
4. Flip the toggle switch located on the left side of the control to the ON position.
Operating the burner
1. Make sure that inlet and discharge air are not restricted.
2. Move the selector switch located on the electrical control enclosure to the ON position.
3. Make sure the burner operation by checking that the flame is evenly spread.
4. Move the selector switch to the OFF position.
5. Repeat steps 3 through 5 several times to ensure proper ignition and burner operation.
6. Depending on when the heater will be used, follow the lighting and shutdown instructions as
applicable.
