Advanced Configurations
Blaster CD-RW is installed dependent on the I/O address (port) and interrupt (IRQ) setting. The
information that follows explains how to change the interface port and interrupt settings in case of a
conflict.
Changing the
Settings in Windows
95/98
To change the resource settings for the Blaster CD-RW:
1.
Click the Start button.
2.
Select Settings and Control Panel.
3.
Double-click the System icon.
4.
Click the Device Manager tab.
5.
Click the plus sign next to the hardware device type. For example, click on the plus sign next to
“Hard disk controllers” or “CD-ROM controllers.”
6.
Double-click the hardware. For example, double-click on “IDE CD-ROM Controller.”
7.
Click the Resources or Settings tab.
8.
If your device does not have a Resources tab, either you cannot change its resources or it is not
using any resource settings.
9.
Disable the
Use automatic settings
option.
10. Double-click the resource you want to change.
If you connect the CD-ROM drive
to an Enhanced IDE connector on
the motherboard, the drive settings
are based upon the controller’s
settings and cannot be changed.
