Appendix A: Using SonoLab Consumable-based Method Selection
SonoLab can be configured with Consumable-based Method Selection to limit the displayed list of methods to only those using a
specified consumable. For individual SonoLab users, Consumable-based Method Selection is set to either Always On, Always Off, or
Optional, as described in
Section 5.5.3
, Managing Users. If Consumable-based Method Selection is set to Optional for a user, the user
controls whether to enable it via the switch in the Method Options pane, described in
Section 5.1
.
If a user’s Consumable-based Method Selection option is configured Always On or Always Off, these setting take precedence and the
switch in the Method Options pane is disabled. See ‘Managing Users’ in
Section 5.5.3
for details on configuring users for Consumable-
based Method Selection. To select and run a method with Consumable-based Method Selection:
1. With the plate containing the sample on the sample tray, click the ‘Run’ button.
2. The instrument performs RFID validation of the inserted plate. The method run fails if the RFID check is invalid.
3. SonoLab displays a dialog listing the methods available to run. The displayed methods use the consumable part number
embedded in the RFID tag. If the user is assigned specific methods, only those methods assigned to the user will be displayed in
the list.
4. The user clicks on the desired method to start the treatment.
