ACP-145/MTA Startup/Shutdown
This chapter describes how to startup and shutdown the ACP-145 Gateway
and the DCL MTA.
4.1
ACP-145 STARTUP/SHUTDOWN
4.1.1
ACP-145 Gateway Startup
To start up the CP-145 Gateway, select
Start
>>
All Programs
>>
ACP-145
Local Gateway
>>
Start CP-145
for the CP-145(L) and
Start
>>
All
Programs
>>
ACP-145 Foreign Gateway
>>
Start CP-145
for the CP-145(F).
The CP-145 Startup Monitor will be displayed and as each start up process
completes, the button will turn green indicating success. The CP-145 Status
Indicator will appear (multicolor Icon) in the bottom right-hand corner of
the desktop. The indicator will initially flash different colors during startup.
It will stop changing color once CP-145 is online. At this point, the User
Interface can be started by selecting the
User Interface
button on the CP-
145 Start Monitor, selecting
Start

User Interface
or by placing the cursor on the CP-145 Status Indicator, right clicking the
mouse, and selecting
User Interface
from the resulting pop-up menu.
If the ACP-145 Gateway startup is unsuccessful, the ACP-145 Gateway
Status Indicator will continue to flash, and an Error dialog will be displayed
indicating that the ACP-145 Gateway was terminated due to an error
condition of unknown origin. If this condition occurs, please refer to the
troubleshooting tips in Appendix B.
4.1.2
ACP-145 Gateway Shutdown
To shutdown the ACP-145
Gateway
from the User Interface select
“System” then “System Shutdown.” Select the
Yes
button in the
confirmation dialog. The ACP-145
Gateway
can also be shutdown by
placing the cursor over the CommPower CP-145 Gateway Status Indicator,
right clicking the mouse and selecting
Stop CP-145
from the resulting pop-up
menu. Select the
Yes
button in the subsequent confirmation dialog. Either
shutdown option will bring down the User Interface and stop the CP-145
application. To manually shut down any one of these services, complete the
following steps:
1.
From the desktop, select
Start >>Settings >> Control Panel
>>Administrative Tools >>Services
2.
Double click the desired service from the list of services.
3.
Select the
Stop
button from the
Properties
dialog.
