Server
service provides the communication link between the
CP-145Gateway
processes and the PostgreSQL database.The
CommPower NTPSync
service is
responsible for providing local system time synchronization with an external
source (which is configured at installation). The
CommPower vCacheServer
service creates and maintains the memory based data cache used by the CP-
145 Gateway application. The
PostgreSQL Server 9.1
service is the database
engine used by the CP-145 Gateway.
The installation process sets CommPower Cron and CommPower NTPSync
services to have an automatic Startup Type. The remaining 3 services are
started following startup of the CP-145 application (via the Windows Start
menu).
To verify that each service started, select
Task Manager >> Processes
.
In the
list of processes the following should be noted:
ssr_sup.exe
(
CommPower ACP145
)
serviceSpawn.exe (CommPower servceSpawn)
cronNT (CommPower Cron)
DBServer.exe (CommPower DB Server)
vCacheServer.exe (CommPower vCacheServer)
cpeNTPSync.exe (CommPower NTPSync)
postgress.exe (PostgreSQL Server 9.1) –
after system startup, multiple
processes (10 or more) will be noted in the Task Manager >> Processes
list.

Data Required For Permanent License File
Two pieces of information about the system are required to generate the
permanent license file: Hostname and MAC Address. Retrieve this
information by following the steps listed below and then forward it to a
CommPower representative. This information is needed only for sites that
do
NOT
have an Enterprise license agreement with CommPower.
1.
Log onto the system as the local system administrator.
2.
From the desktop, select
Start>>right-click on Computer>>Properties
.
The System dialog is displayed.
The Computer name is listed in this dialog.
3.
Record the Computer name. This is the required Hostname.
4.
Ctrl W closes the System dialog.
5.
From the desktop, select
Start>>Command Prompt,
a Command
Prompt window is displayed.
6.
In the Command Prompt window, enter the following command:
ipconfig /all
