Trunk connection
The coupling between Intercom Server and VoIP server is called trunk connection. In order to establish
this connection, pre-configurations of the VoIP server and via CCT 800 are required. This required con-
figuration as well as additional planning information are specified in the following sections.
Planning information for IAX trunk connection
Prior to the establish and configuration of a trunk connection between Intercom Server and VoIP server,
the following questions shall be clarified:
Is the IAX2 protocol supported by the existing VoIP server?
Does the respective VoIP server support the codecs G.711 a-law or G.722?
Is plain text or MD5 as authentication method possible?
How many speech channels (IAX channels) are required?
Which features in the Intercom system are required (e.g. central control desk functions or executive-
secretary transfer chain)?
Registration on VoIP server
The user name and password defined on the VoIP server and the required settings for the network con-
nection have to be configured via CCT 800 for each Gx-IAX card as well (
NOTE: Feature levels
In order to be able to operate the desired features, corresponding features levels (“B”, “C” or “D”)
of the respective cards are required. These feature levels are listed in the manual “
PRO 800
Basic
”.
GOOD TO KNOW: VoIP – server registration
Similar to VoIP phones, the different Gx-IAX cards have to be registered on the VoIP server:
The registration of the Gx-IAX card is carried out by means of user name and password (“User
Account”).
Additionally, an entry in the “dial plan” on the VoIP server has to be carried out for each Gx-IAX card.
This means, a dial prefix for each card has to be defined in order to be able to build up a call from the
VoIP phone to the respective Gx-IAX card.
ATTENTION: User name and password
Observe the following for definition of user name and password:
User name: alphanumeric, max. 16 digits
Password: alphanumeric, max. 16 digits
