4.4.1.2 Type A – 1500V Surge (longitudinal) Terminal Connections
This surge waveform is intended to be applied to any pair of
connections on which lightning surges may occur. This includes
(for example):
a)
tip/ring pair to earth;
b)
tip-1/ring-1 pair to earth; and,
c)
to all leads intended for connection to non-approved
equipment, connected together.
The SGTEL-168 applies this surge between Terminal (A) and the
Ground Terminal (G). Therefore, the EUT lines to be tested
should be connected to these terminals for this surge, as shown
in Figure 9.
