‐
PERFORMING
AN
EXPERIMENT
(without
Oxymax)
If
you
are
connecting
the
treadmill
to
an
Oxymax
‐
CLAMS
System,
skip
to
Chapter
6!
An
experiment
is
performed
by
initializing
the
Treadmill
Controller.
The
shock
intensity
will
be
set.
Then
the
subjects
are
loaded.
Then
the
treadmill
belt
will
be
set
to
“RUN”
and
experiment
begins.
When
desired,
the
treadmill
belt
can
be
set
to
“ACCEL”
to
apply
acceleration.
When
the
experiment
is
finished,
the
subjects
are
removed.
When
the
power
is
turned
on,
the
treadmill
will
automatically
start
running
if
the
"RUN/STOP"
switch
is
in
the
"RUN"
position.
The
belt
speed,
repetition
rate,
and
shock
intensity
will
be
the
same
as
when
the
treadmill
was
last
turned
off

Initialization
Attention!
Use
the
following
procedure
to
prevent
the
application
of
an
undesirable
treadmill
belt
speed
or
high
shock
intensity.
1)
Disable
the
shock
stimulus
by
setting
the
toggle
switches
toward
the
rear
of
the
treadmill
(F
‐
27).
2)
Turn
the
“INTENSITY”
knob
to
zero
and
Rep.
Rate
to
3Hz
(F
‐
28).
3)
Set
the
“TREADMILL
BELT”
toggle
switch
to
“STOP”
on
the
front
panel
of
the
Treadmill
Controller
(F
‐
28).
4)
Switch
on
the
Treadmill
Controller.
The
power
switch
is
integrated
into
the
power
receptacle
on
the
rear
panel
above
the
AC
power
cord
(F
‐
17).
