12. Make sure the lifting bar is in a straight position (90
o
compared
to the scanner) and that it is applying slight tension on the
timing belt. Tighten the lower and upper bracket screws up
finger tight so there is still a bit of movement in the lifting bar
assembly.
13. Re-power the scanner (if not already on) and using the control
buttons move the lid up to the top and then down again, this
makes sure the bar is straight so the lid mechanism can move.
Now tighten the lower and upper brackets screws tightly.
14. Replace the Right Hand End Cover in reverse order as
described in chapter 5.2 "Replacing Right Hand End Cover"
page 8.
