Rotate the mechanism back down, making sure the belt is

fitted correctly with the belt coming from the top of the

horizontal pulley going behind the pulley on the lifting bar.

NOTE: If the belt is put on incorrectly, then the mechanism will work

in the operate direction to the other end of the paper guide

assembly and damage the scanner, so it is very important to fit the

belt correctly.

9. 

Line up the lifting bar with the locating hole in the paper guide

assembly. Position the nylon washer back between the lifting

bar and the end plate.
