3. Place the angled brace in position and secure it to the
tension bands using the 5/16" x 1-1/2" carriage bolts
and 5/16" nuts.
NOTE:
Diagram above shows one side angled brace
installed between the end rafter and first inside rafter at
one end of the frame.
Diagram below shows the angled brace installed at the
top of the same two rafters. View is from the ground
looking up at the assembled end rafter.
4. Repeat to attach the top angled brace and remaining
side angled brace for the first end of the frame.
5. After installing the angled braces at one end of the
frame,
return to each tension clamp
and secure it to the
lateral braces using a Tek screw installed on each side
of each clamp. See example below.
6. Move to the other end of the frame and repeat the
steps to install the three (3) remaining angled braces at
that end.
NOTE:
There is a total of six (6) angled braces for the
entire frame
regardless of the frame length
.
7. After installing all angled braces, verify that all
mounting bolts are tight and that each tension band is
secured to the lateral brace with Tek screws.
8. Continue by anchoring the frame to the site.
Install Tek screw here and on
the other side of the clamp in
the same location.
ANCHOR THE SHELTER
At this point, anchor the frame. Once the frame is anchored
properly, continue with these instructions.
WARNING
: Securing the rafter base plates to concrete
blocks or wood boards set on the site is not a substitute
for properly anchoring the shelter. You must anchor the
shelter as described in the MUST READ document.
FAILING TO PROPERLY ANCHOR THE SHELTER
WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE SHELTER AND
MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.
READ THE MUST READ DOCUMENT TO PROPERLY
ANCHOR THE SHELTER.
NOTE:
Anchor kits are not needed if all base plates are
anchored to a perimeter concrete foundation common to
a newly constructed permanent building. Consult the Must
Read document for additional anchoring that is required.
If the optional end walls were purchased for the High
Boy, install these at this time and then continue with the
following procedures.
