5. With the first rafter temporarily secured using customer-
supplied bracing, lift a second rafter assembly into
position.
NOTE:
Photo shows lifting and setting a rafter into
position. Rafter design differs from actual rafter of the
High Boy frame.

6. Use the Side Profile diagrams found in the Quick Start
Guide to properly space the rafter.
NOTE:
Spacing is measured from the center of the
first rafter base plate to the center of the base plate of
the second rafter.
The on-center rafter spacing for this
series of High Boy buildings is 10'.
If the base plates are anchored to concrete, or were
pre-attached to pressure-treated boards, attach the
rafter using the 1/2" x 4 1/2" bolts as shown in the
Connection - Details diagrams: View 3 (Quick Start).
7. Take one 10' lateral brace (HBT166LB10) and place it
between the two rafters over the studs
on the straight
tubes of each rafter.
8. Install a 1/2" nut and lock washer to keep the brace in
position. DO NOT TIGHTEN AT THIS TIME.
9. Repeat the previous steps to install all lateral braces
between the first two rafters. Adjust the rafter spacing
as needed to keep the rafters plumb.

NOTE:
The peak of the frame includes a double run
of lateral braces: attach one to the underside of the
curved rafter tube and attach the other to the top of
the straight tube of rafter as shown above.
This double
run of lateral bracing runs throughout the length of the
frame.
A double run of
side lateral
braces
is installed in these
locations between the end
rafter and the first inside
rafter at each end of the
frame.
IMPORTANT:
This side double
run of braces is located between
the end rafters and the first inside
rafter only in these two locations at
each end.
Tighten these nuts
after installing the
braces.
