Downgrading the Sensor
Use the
downgrade
command to remove the last applied upgrade from the sensor.
Caution
You cannot use the
downgrade
command to go from 5.0 to 4.x. To revert to 4.x, you must reimage the
sensor. You can use the
downgrade
command for releases after 5.0(1).
To remove the last applied upgrade from the sensor, follow these steps:
Step 1
Log in to the sensor using an account with administrator privileges.
Step 2
Enter global configuration mode:
sensor#
configure terminal
Step 3
Downgrade the sensor:
sensor(config)#
downgrade
Warning: Executing this command will reboot the system and downgrade to
IPS-K9-sp.5.0-2.pkg. Configuration changes made since the last upgrade will be lost and
the system may be rebooted.
Continue with downgrade?:
Step 4
Type
yes
to continue with the downgrade.
Step 5
If there is no recently applied service pack or signature update, the
downgrade
command is not
available:
sensor(config)#
downgrade
No downgrade available.
