Translation of the original operating manual
Pre-adjusting the volume flow:
We recommend to proceed as follows:
1.
Close the precision control needle valve completely by turning the
adjusting knob clockwise to the stop (several turns may be needed).
2.
Set the vacuum set value to one decade below the desired drying
vacuum (Example: If the desired drying vacuum is 1.0 mbar, set the
vacuum set value to 0.1 mbar).
3.
Start the evacuation of the chamber.
4.
When the set vacuum is reached, set the vacuum set value to the de-
sired drying vacuum. The solenoid valve in the gas injection line will be
opened after the new value is confirmed.
5.
While watching the pressure readings, turn the adjusting knob of the
precision control needle valve slowly counter-clockwise until the
readings start approaching the new vacuum set v
alue (approx. 1½ …
2½ turns, depending on the chamber volume). The volume flow is now
correctly preadjusted. The approach speed can be increased by
opening the needle valve slightly wider, but the readings must not
overshoot the new vacuum set value (if needed, the preadjusting
procedure has to be repeated).

Drain
WARNING
Risk of poisoning/infection caused by contaminated condensate
(defrosting water)
The condensate may contain harmful substances originating from the
product.
Contact with the condensate may cause severe damage to health.
• Ensure the environmentally sound disposal of the condensate in
compliance with the local rules and regulations!
The freeze-dryer is equipped with one media drain valve (see chapter 2.1.1
- "Functional and operating elements").
It is used to drain off the condensate and the defrosting water.
• Connect the drain hose (included in the scope of supply) to the hose
connector.
• Place a collecting vessel under the unit.
The hose must be laid with a continuous slope and the end of the hose
must always be above the liquid level in the collecting vessel. This prevents
water and dirt residues from being sucked into the ice condenser chamber
if there is negative pressure when the media drain valve is opened.
