System Overview
This manual covers the installation of the Co-Pilot™ system in a
typical classroom.
Refer to the Figure 1 below for an overview of a typical
classroom. The installation procedure outlined in this manual
may need to be adjusted in order to accomodate for atypical
classroom layouts.
The Co-Pilot™ system can be installed into rooms of any size,
however the RF wireless capability is limited to a coverage area
of 160 square feet (14.68 square meters).
NOTE:
Chief® offers additional mounting components that can
be used for custom installations.
NOTE:
The cables used for installing the AVM1 modules are
all included in the Co-Pilot™ AVC1 cable kit.
Determine Mounting Locations
1.
Take all of the following into consideration when
determining mounting locations of projector, speakers and
input boxes.
•
Room size, orientation and layout
•
Safety requirements
•
Ceiling and wall types
•
Room lighting
•
Location of whiteboard
•
Location of teacher’s desk
•
Students’ seating arrangement
PREPARATION
1.
Mount projector according to the installation manuals
included with projector mounting devices.
2.
Mount speakers according to the installation manual
included with the speaker kit being used.
3.
Route speaker wires to the input box installation location.
WARNING:
The CoPilot system can use only four AVS1
speakers (two pairs) or a total output of 25 amps unless an
amplifier is also used.
WARNING:
Make all wiring connections prior to AC
connections and power up.
