Attaching the Companion Unit to the Companion Adapter
1.
Bring the Companion Adapter’s upper tooth in contact with the upper axle of the Docking
Port.
2. Use both hands to push the handlebar forward and slightly up from the wheelchair as
shown (the Companion will pivot on the upper axle.) until you hear a click; this will mean
that the locking mechanism is activated and the Adapter and the Power Unit are
connected. The casters of your wheelchair should lift off the ground. The recommended
gap between the casters and the ground is about five centimeters (
two inches
).
