ABORTED START PROCEDURE
1. Fuel Cutoff Control – CUTOFF (OUT)
2. Start Motor Switch – MOTOR 10 to 30 seconds
3. TOT – MONITOR
4. Perform corrective maintenance action if required.
BEFORE TAXIING
1. Windows, vents and heater -- ADJUST as desired.
2. Parking Brake -- RELEASE
BEFORE TAKEOFF
1. Parking Brake – SET
2. Passenger Seats – AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE
3. Passenger Seat Backs – MOST UPRIGHT POSITION
4. Seats and Seatbelts – CHECK SECURE
5. Cabin Doors and Windows – CLOSE and LOCK
6. Flight Controls – FREE and CORRECT
7. Flight Instruments – CHECK and SET
8. Fuel Quantity – CHECK
9. Fuel Selector Valve – RECHECK BOTH
10. Propeller Control – IN
CAUTION
AVOID CONTINUOUS OPERATION (>60 SECONDS)
BETWEEN 1358 RPM AND 1630 RPM PROPELLER SPEED
AT TORQUE SETTING GREATER THAN 20 PSI
11. Auto Feather –
A. Ensure the Propeller Control is at the FORWARD (Increase
RPM) position.
B. Position the Power Control at GROUND IDLE.
C. Activate the propeller overspeed governor test switch.
D. Gradually increase the engine power by advancing the
Power Control. Proper functioning of the propeller
overspeed governor will be indicated by the propeller speed
being limited to approximately 1450 Np RPM as the power
is increased.
E. Reduce the Power Control to GROUND IDLE. Propeller speed
will reduce along with this power reduction.
F. Release the test switch.
12. Suction Gauge – CHECK (4.6 to 5.4 in Hg.)
13. Alternate Air – CYCLE check for light and ram inlet doors.
14. Inlet Anti-Ice – PULL ON. Check for rise in TOT, then OFF.
15. Strobe Lights – AS DESIRED
16. Electric Trim (if installed) – PREFLIGHT TEST
17. Radios and Avionics – SET
18. NAV/GPS Switch (if installed) – PREFLIGHT TEST
19. Auto Pilot (if installed) – OFF
20. Elevator and Rudder Trim – TAKEOFF setting
