PILOT PANEL LAYOUT
The instrument panel (refer to Figure 7-1) is designed around the
basic “T” configuration. The gyros are located immediately in front
of the pilot, and arranged vertically. The airspeed indicator and
altimeter are located to the left and right of the gyros respectively.
Avionics equipment is stacked approximately on the centerline of the
panel. The TOT, propeller RPM, torque meter, N
1
, oil temperature
and oil pressure gauges are located to the right of the avionics
stack. The right side of the panel contains the annunciator panel,
flight hour recorder, ELT switch, and space for additional
instruments and avionics equipment. The fuel flow indicator, suction
gauge and ammeter are located on the left side of the left panel. A
switch and control panel at the lower edge of the instrument panel
contains most of the switches, controls, and circuit breakers
necessary to operate the airplane. The left side of the panel
contains the motor/start switch, generator switch, battery switch,
auto-feather test button, light intensity controls, electrical switches,
avionics power switch and circuit breakers for installed equipment,
and an alternate static source valve control knob. The avionics
circuit breaker panel is located on the right hand instrument panel.
The lower center area contains the power control and propeller
control. The lower right side of the panel contains the wing flap
switch lever and indicator, cabin heater, cabin air, defroster, and
auxiliary cabin air control knobs. A pedestal, extending from the
lower edge of the switch and control panel to the floorboard,
contains the elevator and rudder trim control wheels, engine
alternate air control lever, fuel cutoff control, microphone bracket
and the fuel selector valve handle. A parking brake handle is
mounted under the switch and control panel in front of the pilot.
