POHS CESSNA T206H/206H
NORMAL PROCEDURES

F.A.A. Approved

5. Fuel Tank Sump Quick Drain Valves -- DRAIN at least a cupful
of fuel (using sampler cup) from each sump location to check for
water, sediment, and proper fuel grade before each flight and
after each refueling. If water is observed, take further samples
until clear and then gently rock wings and lower tail to the
ground to move any additional contaminants to the sampling
points. Take repeated samples from
all
fuel drain points until
all
contamination has been removed. If contaminants are still
present, refer to WARNING below and do not fly airplane.
WARNING
IF, AFTER REPEATED SAMPLING,
EVIDENCE OF CONTAMINATION STILL
EXISTS, THE AIRPLANE SHOULD NOT BE
FLOWN. TANKS SHOULD BE DRAINED
AND SYSTEM PURGED BY QUALIFIED
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL. ALL
EVIDENCE OF CONTAMINATION MUST
BE REMOVED BEFORE FURTHER
FLIGHT.
6. Fuel Quantity – CHECK VISUALLY for desired level
7. Fuel Filler Cap – SECURE and VENT UNOBSTRUCTED.
5. NOSE
1. Cowl – CHECK for security
2. Before first flight of the day and after each refueling, use sampler
cup and drain small quantity of fuel from both header tanks and
engine fuel filter to check for water and sediment. (The fuel
selector valve must be “ON” while the engine fuel filter is being
drained.) If water is observed, perform further draining at all fuel
drain points until clear and then gently rock wings and lower tail
to the ground to move any additional contaminants to the
sampling points. Take repeated samples from all fuel drain
points until all contamination has been removed.
3. Static Source Opening (both sides of fuselage) – CHECK for
stoppage
4. Air Inlet – CHECK for any foreign objects
5. Oil Cooler Inlet – CLEAR
6. Engine Oil Level -- CHECK. Do not operate with less than 4
quarts (bottom mark on the dip stick) in the oil tank.
7. Gearbox Impending Oil Filter Bypass Indicator – CHECK IN
8. Propeller and Spinner – CHECK for nicks, security, oil leaks,
disconnect tie down and rotate to check for freedom.
