Chapter 15

Software Upgrade

What is the Software Upgrade Utility?

The FibeAir2000 Manager provides a Software Upgrade Utility (SWU) to 
upgrade the software (firmware) of installed ODUs in a network. The 
update files may be located anywhere accessible by the operator.

The SWU provides for:

• Prior backup of the current files prior to upgrade
• Upgrade from a lis
• Delayed upgrade
• Various ODU reset options

The default location of the software files is in the installation area, and can 
be used to restore factory defaults.

Upgrading an Installed Link

¾

To upgrade software for a link:

1. In the FibeAir2000 Manager main menu, click Tools | Software 

Upgrade ... The following detached window appears
