5 Transporting and Setting Up
This chapter contains information on transporting and setting up the machine:
• Transporting (page 47)
• Unpacking (page 48)
• Requirements for the environment (page 48)
• Raising and setting down (page 48)
5.1 Transporting
Safety-conscious, foresighted behaviour of the personnel prevents dangerous situations dur-
ing transport.
The following principles apply for transport:
• The machine may only be transported by persons qualified to do so.
• Moving parts must be properly secured.
• Suitable, fault-free lifting gear and slings must always be used for transport.
• The weight of the machine and the position of the centre of gravity must be taken into
account during transport.
Prepare the machine for transport as follows:
• If the machine was in operation prior to transport, shut down the machine, as described
in the section "Maintenance, repairs and shut-down" > "Decommissioning for several
days" (page 91).
• Clean the machine if necessary.
• Secure the machine against slipping off while observing the centre of gravity.
• Secure moving machine parts.
Act according to the following instructions during transport:
• Comply with accident prevention regulations and the local provisions.
• No persons may stand or walk under hanging loads.
• Only use lifting gear in the prescribed manner:
• Lifting gear must be designed and approved for the weight of the machine.
• Only use lifting gear in proper condition.
• Transport the machine carefully. Do not lift, slide or support at sensitive parts (for exam-
ple levers).
