ABOUT YOUR NEW
AIR CONDITIONING UNIT
Thank you for choosing a Carrier room air conditioner
to cool your home or office. In addition to providing
economical cooling comfort, Carrier room air condi-
tioners filter and dehumidify the air in the room.
This owner’s guide will supply all the information you
need to operate and maintain your new air-
conditioning unit. See Fig. 1 for a part identification
and description of the unit.

INSTRUCTIONS
For your safety, do not store or use gasoline or other
flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or
any other appliance. Read product labels for flamma-
bility and other warnings.
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury to
persons when using your air conditioner, follow basic
precautions including the following:
• Be sure electrical service is adequate for the air con-
ditioner you have chosen. Never use an extension
cord or adapter plug.
• Be sure air conditioner has been securely and
correctly installed according to the installation
instructions provided with the unit.
• When handling air conditioner, be careful to avoid
cuts from sharp metal fins on front and rear coils.
• Never run air conditioner with an outside protective
cover in place. This could result in mechanical dam-
age to the air conditioner.
