CYCLE COMPLETION MODE
The Model 75 cycle completion is the end portion of the strip cycle when the
clamp jaws open, the operator removes the stripped cable, the clamp jaws reset,
and the cutter blade returns to its full closed position, readying the unit for the
next strip cycle. There are two modes available:
AUTO
and
MANUAL
.
In
AUTO
mode, the clamp jaws open and the operator has a programmable
amount of time (see
AUTO COMPLETION DWELL
in the next section) to
remove the cable from the unit before the jaws reset and the cutter blade returns
to its closed position.
Sometimes it is desirable to have the cutter blade close when directed by the
operator, rather than automatically. This is especially true for new operators
learning how to use the Model 75 that do not quite have the strip cycle timing or
“routine” mastered.
This is also desirable when stripping certain types of cables whose jacket strip
portions have a tendency of getting trapped in the end of the wire guide bushing,
or when processing semi-rigid or conformable type cables. The
MANUAL
mode
should be selected in these instances. This mode gives an operator as much
time as required to make sure the end of the wire guide bushing is free of debris
before the cutter blade closes.
MANUAL
mode requires the operator to press and release the Run/Stop switch
after the clamp jaws open at the end of a strip cycle, resetting the unit for the
next cycle.
A beeping sound and a message on the LCD display will “remind” the
operator to press the Run/Stop switch to complete the cycle.
