<Procedure>
1.

Install the new parts as shown in the figure below (Fig. 2). This part is called the high voltage
connector unit.

Insert the shaft section of the flag (FB2-8521) into the hole (2mm diameter) of the flag holder
(FB2-8520).

Be sure the installation direction of the microswitch of the high-voltage SW cable (FG6-3420) is
correct.

After installing all new parts, check that the flag (FG2-8521) moves smoothly and presses the
microswitch.

2.

Remove the fixing/waste toner drive assembly. (See the Service Manual for details of how to
remove the unit.)

3.

Remove the high voltage connector unit.

4. Install the high voltage connector unit at the place where the transfer high voltage connector was

installed.

5. Remove the connector J780 of the waste toner relay cable (FG5-5045-000) connected to the

microswitch (MSW4) for the waste toner feedscrew locking condition. (See Fig. 3.)

6. Connect the cable connected to the microswitch of the high voltage connector unit between the two

middle connectors of the connector J780 (which were formerly directly joined) removed in Step 5.
(See Fig. 3.)

7. Reinstall the removed parts at their original locations.
