Clearing Paper Jams

Imaging area

Gently pull out any jammed paper using the following procedure.

Open the top cover completely

and remove the EP-32 cartridge

. Store the

cartridge in its original protective bag to avoid exposure to light.

CAUTION

It is possible that the top cover could fall down. Please take care not to
get your hand caught if this happens.

• If paper has been output to the face-down tray, remove all of the paper from

the tray before opening the top cover.

• Open the top cover as far as it will go.

If you can see the edge of the paper

Using green mark, flip the transfer guide up

, then slowly pull the paper out from

below

Transfer guide

Transfer charging roller

Transfer guide

Green mark

• When removing the jammed paper, be careful not to touch the

transfer charging roller. If the roller becomes dirty, the print quality
will deteriorate.

• The transfer guide opens to an angle of about 90

. Do not try to force

it any further open as this could deform the guide and result in a
deterioration in print quality or a printer malfunction.
