<Noise from Fixing Assembly, Fixing Drive Assembly and the Right Door Assembly>
Title
Noise at the time of turning ON the main power/recovery from sleep/duplex printing due to contact between
the duplex drive gear and the right door detection holder
Symptom
Noise may be caused at the time of turning ON the main power (recovery from sloop), or duplex printing.
Cause
The mounting shaft on the right door unit has some play in the front-back direction. However, in a case of the
parts with too much play, the duplex drive gear [1] on the right door unit may come into contact with the
portion [a] of the right door detection holder, which may cause noise.
Service work
When the above symptom occurs, prepare one each of the two types of the washers with the part numbers
described below, and attach them by following the steps below to secure a space of 1.4 mm so that the
duplex drive gear [1] and the portion [a] of the right door detection holder do not touch with each other.

thickness)
- Photo [B]: XD1-1108-226 (a washer with 8.2 mm internal diameter/13 mm external diameter/0.6 mm
thickness)
[Caution]
When attaching the two washers with 0.6 mm, only a space of 1.2 mm can be secured, and then noise may
be caused. Therefore, be sure to attach one each of the above two types.
