the laser shutter lever. As a result, specific color does not get printed because a drum is not exposed to
enough laser beam.
Service work
Follow the steps below to remove toner bottle mounts, and clean moving parts of laser shutter lever.
1) In Service mode > COPIER > Function > MISC-P > SHT-OPEN, press OK to open the laser shutter.
2) Turn OFF the power, then remove the elective Drum unit.
3) Place a flashlight where the removed drum unit was located, and make sure the laser shutter is open. If
the laser shutter is open, then a cause of the problem is different from the one noted in this FAQ; look for
other contributing factors.
4) Remove the all drum units.
5) Remove the ITB unit.
6) Remove the cassette 1, the front cover, the left cover and the first delivery tray.
7) Remove the toner cartridge.
8) Remove the fan holder cover [1].
9) Depending on the toner bottle mount to be removed, follow the steps below.
a. When removing the toner bottle mount "M"
Remove the connector [2](1 pc), screw [3](2 pcs), protrusion [a](2 places), and remove the fan duct 2 in the
direction of the arrow.
b. When removing the toner bottle mount "Y"
Remove the connector [4](1 pc), screw [5](2 pcs), protrusion [b](2 places), and remove the fan duct 1 in the
direction of the arrow.
