2) The machine rotates the registration roller and the transport belt to move the 1st original.

3) When the lead edge of the 1st original has moved past the post-registration roller sensor (S3) and has been
moved over a specific distance by the transport belt, the machine stops the original (standby position). (At
this time, the machine starts to keep track of the distance over which the 1st original moves after it has moved
past the pre-registration roller paper sensor (S2).)

4) The machine rotates the transport belt to move the original over a specific distance, and discharges it (reading
takes place here).

5) When the 1st original has fully been discharged, the machine starts pickup of the 2nd original.

6) The machine goes back to step 2. and repeats the subsequent steps.
