4) Press the push switch SW3 or SW4; the indication
of the 7-segment LED (DSP1) will change to
indicate the state (paper present/absent) of the
sensor in question.

A. How to Check the Hinge
1) Open the ADF widely.

2) Close the ADF gradually and stop it just before the
point where it closes with its own weight (just
before the hinge becomes unable to retain the
ADF).

3) At this point, if the distance 'A' between the edge
of the front cover and the upper front cover is
20cm or more, perform the hinge spring pressure
aadjustment described next.
